As a fan of the show, it’s really funny to see how little the game explains about the plot. They failed to make a game that would explain itself to people who’ve never seen the show, but they also made it a disappointment to the show’s fans. Truly the best of both worlds.
For reference on how accurate this game is to the show, the idle animation for Toph, the blind girl, is having her look around.
this game definitely banks on pre-existing knowledge of the show's lore 12:01 it's because Iroh and Zuko have a very complicated relationship that gets better over the course of the show. they become a duo in Act 2, so it makes sense that it would be a trophy two play co-op as them
it´s fun to see how lost he is since he didn´t watch the show but if you did know the story you´d just faceplam regularly instead so not sure which one is better
17:23 Game is so bad he thinks Azula is an ice bender.
17:29 Azula’s fire-bending is so powerful that’s its become blue fire, so she’s not trying to freeze us throughout the game, only burn us with fire hotter than normal
the moment the game footage started, my boyfriend watching over my shoulder cried out "oh no! it looks like a ps2 game!"
i don't think anyone mentioned it but at like 12:50 aang is in the avatar state where he can channel the power of all the previpus avatars but he can't control it super well in the beginning. while in that state, azula uses her lightning bending to attack him and he like, ends up unconscious / in a coma state for several months ( could be longer?? it was enough for him to grow hair hahaha ). i promise you the actual show is so good and explains everything
11:59 Iroh is Zuko’s uncle and they are both members of the fire royal family. Iroh is the Firelord’s brother and Zuko is the Firelord’s son. Also, Azula is Zuko’s sister.
The way he says Toph hurts me inside.
It still insane how avatar the last airbender never got the perfect game it deserve, so much potential, yet we got this in 2023???
12:11 wait, are you playing this game without ever watching the show? Damn, I feel so sorry for you. This game is already a mess for someone who's seen the show, but to not even have any context for any of it, especially given how little the game gives you, lore-wise? This must've been a trip, lmao
19:55 bro this is one of the coolest moments in the show with context The weird black-and-white echolocation scene is actually a technique that Toph uses to "see", which she taught to Aang. She uses earthbending to feel the tremors through the earth. That's how Aang felt Fire Lord Ozai coming without visually seeing where he was, and is the first time we see him properly using the technique. It shows mastery of earthbending as one of his elements.
This game was a letdown avatar the last Airbender is my childhood show so I was disappointed about this game
God will someone please get ATLA a quality game It’s just sitting there, a goldmine
My favorite avatar character, Toef
I swear this game was probably hidden in some dude's old hard drive from the early 2000s and during tax season, was legally obligated to get it out.
I highly recommend the actual show.. its great, and basically none of the adaptations give it justice
I like how a few lines of the wiki did more for the story than the actual game. Also I watched the show as a kid and this game made no sense
