The mnemonic “Some People Can’t Focus” always helped me remember this: Sensorimotor, Preoperational, Concrete, Formal

@Kadams1997

The “why” stage is my favorite. When my little cousins go through it, I try my best to answer their questions as accurately as I can. I don’t know if it truly helps them, but I love it. I remember when I explained that trees grow from seeds and my little cousins touches a small pine and says, “it’s a baby?” It was so sweet.

@Nastazya

thank you for summarising a 2 hour lecture on 6 minutes

@userrosiekdlskd

Thank you for finally enabling me to understand piagets stages! This will help my alevels in 2024!

@HULK-HOGAN1

This is the best designed information video I have ever seen. The animations and explanations are on point! Thank you

@alexandrevieira748

How not to love and thank Piaget for studying children, how they learn and behave?! Thank you so much for sharing!

@familialopes4955

The script for the video is very well written. Explains Piaget's concepts very well. We really have a sensational machine built inside us, our brain. It's a gift to be able to have n use it.

@365dongle3

Watching this video is a LOT easier than trying to read one of Piaget's books!

@bridgetflowers5600

Sprouts,
I want to express my gratitude for your channel and dedication to explaining human development. I passed my LSW Exam yesterday because of your great videos. Thank you so much.🎉🎉🎉🎉❤🎉❤

@Zay213

I had my GCSE textbook open while watching, you literally left nothing out. I can't believe how well you managed summarised 3 pages of text in a 6-minute video.

@WOW-Parenting

This is such a fascinating explanation of Piaget’s theory! Here are my key takeaways:

Piaget outlined 4 stages of cognitive development: sensori-motor, pre-operational, concrete operational, and formal operational — each shaping how we think and interact with the world.

In the sensori-motor stage (0–2), babies learn through senses and movement, and develop object permanence — a major milestone in cognitive awareness.

In the pre-operational stage (2–7), kids think symbolically, engage in imaginative play, and start to reason intuitively, but are still egocentric.

During the concrete operational stage (7–11), children begin to understand logic, conservation, reversibility, and start seeing from others’ perspectives.

From age 12 onward, the formal operational stage allows abstract thinking, deductive reasoning, identity exploration, and even self-reflection.

Jean Piaget truly changed how we understand the way children grow and learn. This video does a great job making complex psychology easy to grasp. 🧠👏

My love for psychology will never fade!

@romeoli4665

I believe that everyone has a particular pace in development. It has been proven that we have different brains that operates uniquely to us, therefore, some might develop faster than other , some may develop slower . The important thing about this is no matter how fast or slow a person develops , they will all undergo the same stages.

@majorearl12

I have twins that are 7 months. Man is it awesome watching them grow, my daughter skipping the sitting step so she can crawl faster than her brother and already ready to run. My son wanting to situp since he was 2 months, and enjoying being held more than anything.

Both having habits like my daughter wanting to lay on her own and move her head back and forth until she is comfy, and my son needing momma cuddles to get good sleep.

@LETreviewerPH

I just love all the informative presentations in your channel. As an educator molding future educators, the theories of learning videos explained in few minutes are fundamental..carry on!

@druoleary

As a retired child and adolescent psychologist I was so glad to find your channel. I’m weary of seeing adult cognitive-behaviorally therapists (I’ve also worked with traumatized cops and military) restate Piaget’s work and claim that Piaget developed Schema Theory. He did not. Thanks for letting me get that off my chest.
