I had an opportunity to speak with Sam Elliott and Kurt Russell during the filming of "Tombstone" when I lived in SE Arizona. We spoke off-set for almost an hour and I can honestly say that they were two of the most genuine, unassuming and most likeable guys I've ever met. I worked with and had friends who were cattle ranchers and Sam was a helluva lot like them; your word was your bond - no paperwork required.

While I'm not a "cowboy", I did spend a lot of time on a cattle/grain ranch owned by my grandparents in Saskatchewan, Canada.  Sam would have fit right in, genuine and solid as a rock.  When you see Sam, you know automatically that the movie has substance, otherwise, he wouldn't be in it.  I'm lucky, Sam lives in a town here in Oregon seven miles away from me here.  Although I've never met him, I have great respect for him and his privacy, to say nothing of his body of work in films.  Keep it up Sam, we love and respect you Sir!

I was only on The Big Lebowski set for aa few weeks, Sam and Jeff were nice enough to start conversations with crew and guests. Especially Sam!

I agree totally and think I have seen most of Sam's movies and also TV roles as I am 76. I can be in any room of my house & immediately know if he is talking ( even a commercial) because of his unique voice which I have always loved .May you and your family stay blessed with good health and happiness for many more years!!!!
