2:23 Game dev here. Fun fact about the lack of vertical look up and down. This was a technical limitation at the time, a lot of the 3D calculations we take for granted in today's games where too much for the CPUs in 1993. But also, Doom was initially designed to be playable without a mouse because a lot of computers didn't even have a mouse in those days.

I have a soft spot for Doom 3. Months and months leading up to the release all the technical advancements of the game were being showcased. It was a masterpiece of graphical prowess I upgraded my PC just to play this game and was in shock that it was a horror game. It scared the shit out of me whenever I played it and I loved it.
