@dilipmv6546

Some of us went from being told by our parents not to trust the internet to having to tell our parents not to trust the internet.

@sneaks9150

Huge respect for commissioning work from original artist and flying him over, that was awesome.

@noahraisman4906

My favorite part is how John talks about the artists getting screwed because of this then goes out of his way to commission a piece from one of the said artists that’s being affected, put money in his pocket and brought awareness to the situation, that’s how you help REAL artists in this time of AI Generated Ripoffs. John Oliver thank you for bringing this to light!!!

@celestewoodworth5627

"Why are the cats wearing clothes? Because I taught them shame." Is going to play in my head every time I see a clearly AI generated video now. Thank you.

@emsleywyatt3400

The scariest thing isn't ignorance, it's the clinging to ignorance even after it's exposed as such.

@Kobay350

The one AI company CEO talking about how hard it is to create music today just shows the absolute contempt they have for people making things.

@latos1947

"What a fun way to celebrate the destruction of our shared objective reality" is actually fucking terrifying. Its both so accurate as to what is Happening and how unbothered people are by it

@bargemouvier

This is what rich people want- confusion, anger, fear, misinformation and sudden inability to do normal things like organize protests through online conversations.

@waaurufu

It genuinely makes me happy to see a real artist get paid to make a high quality shit post, bravo!

@imac.13

I know it shouldn't be a shock that John and the team at Last Week Tonight are defending artists, as they are artists themselves, but it makes me truly happy seeing someone with a platform shed light on some of the major issues surrounding AI. Thank you, Last Week Tonight, I hope HBO lets you continue to do the great work you're doing.

@Davao420

I'm from the Philippines and a senator just posted a video of students praising Duterte. It was an AI video, and he doubled down when confronted. Scary times to be informed. Ignorance isn't only bliss, it's a civilization-ending thing.

@izzylove89

As a visual artist, who has spent years perfecting my craft, PLEASE SUPPORT REAL ARTISTS. It is really unfair the impact that AI is having on artists now with our work not only being stolen, but people making money off "AI art".

@GwydionFrost

Trying to be vigilant about AI slop has turned me into Inigo Montoya, aggressively hunting for a 6 fingered man in every video I come across.

@Cheezus

I live in LA and during the fires, I had a former childhood friend crash out on my trying to tell me, an LA native, that the hollywood sign is indeed on fire. I even sent him a picture from my balcony of the sign still there being as dusty as ever and he moved onto other AI "evidence" to disprove me. Some people are completely broken by AI.

@dh8203

Imagine going on a hike where you're caught in a horse poop windstorm, and still giving it 4/5 stars. That's a person with real dedication to enjoying every moment of life.

@myblacklab7

Labeling of AI-generated content should be specific and mandatory across every platform.
Even if AI is only used to help write a script, it should be labeled "Script writer(s) received AI assistance."
And of course, AI-generated voices, scripts, and images should have clear labels.
I actually think Congress should pass a law about this - there is nothing to be gained by allowing AI-generated content to be represented as human-produced content.

@laalaa99stl

"One of the 3 dead popes that made it up here" was a bunker-buster of a one-liner.

@marcodupa

It should go without saying but any “musician” who finds such a lack of joy making music that they turn to AI was never a musician in the first place

@immarisabel3452

On the bright side, AI Slop stopped my Instagram and Pinterest addiction when I could not find anymore what I wanted 😂😂

@DrWaK1

Boomers in the Late 90s and 00s "You can't believe everything you read on the internet. Anyone can edit Wikipedia with any trash!"
Boomers in the 20s "Did you see the news story where the cat graduated college, lost his dad, got married, and at the wedding saw a dust version of his dad? IT HAPPENED!"
