"Quite a lot of planning went into this" Me after watching the latter seasons of Better Call Saul: No fucking shit.
Love that Walt is not only a genius chemist, but also a genius scale up process engineer And he was just hanging out as a high school teacher instead
You know…they could’ve just worked out a situation where Walt was the lead chemist, Gale was his second in command and Jesse was the lab assistant. Walt could have named his formula the “Heisenberg formula” to smooth his ego which I’m sure Gale would have honored…him being a fan girl for Walt and all…then once Walt made his money he could’ve retired allowing Gale and Jesse to graduate in their roles. Smhhh edit: ik this is all wishful thinking. a person can dream can’t they? 😂
Little does the guy who sold the twins the vests know that he saved Hank's life with that single hollow point.
This was such a high point of the show. Or rather, of Walt’s situation. Dude was making bank ($12 million a year if memory serves but it’s been a while), had a good working relationship with Gus who had an established distribution network, could choose his own work hours, he was basically untouchable. Mike was 100% right when he told Walt that he screwed up a good thing. Why would you want to put yourself in the crosshairs like Walt did? That ego alone cost him everything.
This is the most creative genius design for a criminal enterprise in television history. Absolutely superb
2:30 i knew walt had numerous outs from the drug game so the writers could hammer home the point that he stayed for himself and not for his family, but i completely forgot about this one.
The Salamancas sure love delaying an easy kill who ends up killing them. Tuco didn't just kill Walt and Jesse. Lalo didn't Gus. The twin didn't just shoot Hank. Hector didn't kill Gus and eventually Gus killed his entire family.
Walt had a wealthy patron, a secure facility, generous hours and pay, but his pride just wouldn't allow it.
9:52 I like how in the far shot of the parking lot in the top right corner you see a couple groups of people just hanging out and chatting like a gunfight didn't just happen like 50 feet from them
I loved the way, when Gus moved the machine forward to reveal the lab entrance, red light emerged from below. "Abandon all hope, ye who enter here."
What if Gus just bought Walt’s formula for $50M. Teach Gale, call it Heisenberg formula for his legacy, plus on-going support for his family. Gus knew Walt’s ego, also a dying man. No badblood, no hard feelings.
The twins were cool and all, but they talked too much
In retrospect, it hurts to see the lab go on fire now after learning WHO is 6 feet under
05:54 I love how we can see one of the twins behind the car before their complete introduction.
My God, what a gravesite.
This isn't a lab, it's a tomb.
Like a kid in a candy shop.
Can’t believe I never noticed lalo and Howard in this clip the first time. Bravo Vince!
