When a school forbids staff from paying for a starving child's school lunch because they want the obviously abusive parents to fill out paperwork, that means both the educational system and principle/upper staff members need a complete rehaul. The only empathy and humanity Gavin saw was from his lunch ladies and teachers, and hopefully classmates. They tried so hard, but when speaking up isn't taken seriously by people who have power for permanent change, everyone below the line is affected negatively. What other family members cared??

To anyone to may see signs of child abuse like his school cafeteria workers did: If you report it to DCFS and the child’s condition does not improve, take him to the police station and threaten to sue them unless they investigate properly. Gabriel Fernandez school teacher repeatedly reported signs of torture to DCFS and nothing was done. If she would have taken Gabriel to the police station, he would have survived.

To all parents if you know your child is being abused and it look like that the last time you saw him take up 50 pickets and grab all your friends put the signs on the picket saying this child is being abused all over their front line and you guys walk back and forth all day until a police officer shows up and do it everyday until then until the child is seen and the child is taking care of. That's what I would have done to save Gavin. You don't just sit back and do nothing. That's exactly what everyone should do for every child that they think is being abused in a home. Put the signs up. Take care of business. Save your child!

Some people just should not be parents what little Gavin went through is horrific and I can't believe any human being would treat a child like that shame on those three people for doing that to that little boy. Rest in peace Gavin
