@AConnorDN38416

That goopy stuff seriously always made me feel like I was gonna throw up. The sickly sweet taste on top of it basically filling up your whole mouth with goop was too much for me

@J91-KJ

the way she spits it out like a confused child trying a new food gets me everytime😂

@wingsofatlantis

trying not to gag during that process was beyond difficult 😭

@eve0nline03

I used to get these done every year before and while I had my braces. I never understood why the nurses were so careful and affectionate almost, when doing these with me.

They made sure to move as slowly as possible and as little as possible. They also gave me a little nervous vibe when waiting for the plaster to harden.

Now I know they were scared of me throwing up.

I didn't understand because the thought of throwing up never crossed my mind in all these years.

@Gameplayer55055

I was sitting still and not moving because i thought parents would be charged additionally for my misbehavior

@Ginabina76

Ohhhh! Our then 10 year old literally puked. We had to strip him and give him a paper gown to get to the car. He was traumatized.

@JelloIsLazy

"HEAUGH HEAUGH"

@ehhhhlyssa

When I threw up on a tech during an impression, her panic made me think it was something that rarely ever happens. Good to know I’m not alone

@1TSV1V15

''HEAUGH HEAUGH''
''No stop.you beter not''
BRO I STARTED LAGHING SO HARDDD AND I ALMOST CHOCKED

@Jupiter_j3wels

That look in her eyes shows the betrayal of a little kid who thought they were going to Disney but got a shot at the doctor instead😭

@AshunPhubu

People tend to forget that gagging is a natural reflex our body does, when it needs air because there is blockage, disgusting food/too much food or foul odor/smell making you gag so you know to get away from whatever is causing your body to react that way.

Edit: and since that stuff hardens really fast it would be quite dangerous if your body didn’t react the way it should.

@SolSanchezC-137

I didn't even feel the urge to gag the first time I did this. Chat, am I an alien?

Edit: Damn, y'all REALLY like my comment 😨

@lindsaykuntz1526

I remember the dental assistant YELLING at me because I gagged. I felt so bad but really I had no control.

@itsKeeN

Man, when I started learning to take impressions, I'd feel so bad for my patients. Taught me a lot of communication skills and patience

@bmanGD

I'm dying at the "sometimes for popcorn, sometimes for puke". We had a metal bowl in our home as a kid that fits that EXACT description!! 😂
