the "too big =/= oversize" is so real whenever i say something looks too big on me people are like well you can wear it as an oversize fit IT'S NOT SUPPOSED TO LOOK LIKE THAT
something that’s helped me a lot with buying the right thing is to upload it to my digital wardrobe BEFORE i buy. Obviously things can fit differently than expected but you can still see it with your current wardrobe, check if it would work well with it and build outfits in advance! love the video btw, I’ve binge watched your entire channel recently <3
I realized that fit plays a huge role in my confidence. I used to thrift and collect super cool pieces but they were either too short or too baggy so I would never wear them 😭
so so real about the pink lady theory - a charity shop addiction will lead you too own a few to many almost perfect but not perfect pieces xx also fave little evenings spent watching you chat
To help with the resenting online purchases that don’t fit how you imagined… I personally use the “purgatory bin” where I toss things Im upset or disappointed in so a few months later I can return with a new mindset. I find this often lets me forget what I wanted the piece to be and learn to appreciate what it actually is. For example I bought a vest off of EBay I imagined to fit snug to my body but it ended up being pretty loose. I put it away for about 4 months and later went back to it to discover I actually really enjoyed the fit it had! Now it’s one of my most worn items
you’re so right about needing clothes to be interesting! i was always the same and i don’t like wearing lots of clothes but having interesting pieces while all the fashion people say that you should have all neutral basics for layering but i think thats just boring, and wearing clothes that are already cool is just so much better. ❤
making a pinterest board of my desired style also really helps with being more cutthroat with what i buy and stops me from buying into trends that i wouldnt actually want to wear otherwise
4:22 girllll wdym you’re very pretty 🤧🤧🫶🫶 you are someone’s inspiration as well!! I bought my first dungarees because of you hehe
youre so real my seasonal depression is SO BAD
Favorite fashion commentator by far 🫶
4:22 But you are beautiful :’) I for sure thought you were a model when I first found your channel. It’s quite hard to see ourselves beyond our own lens sometimes
you are just so beautiful ash, hope you are well 💓
I love ur accent it scratches my brain
I’m kind of the opposite I’m actually lacking plain basic pants in my wardrobe lol. Also, maybe that’s just me but every year I somehow seem to always forget how to dress for colder weather in fall.
trying before buying is so important ! i think that a lot of knee length dresses with straight silhouettes look beautiful on hangers but the moment i try one on i wanna puke (i am short and bottom heavy so i should probably just give up on those) matching is also a problem for me. i am always drawn to statement pieces but rarely think of ways to style them beforehand. but the pink lady theory + someone buying for you surprisingly doesn’t work in my case. i may not like a piece but buy it since my mother thinks it’s cute; i end up wearing these clothes often (2-3 times in a week)
Why does this feel like watching a modern day philosopher
I could relate to almost ALL of these 😭 one of my favorite videos by you i think
loved the neighborhood story picc, honestly any ai yazawa anime/manga could be a fashion icon!
Ive gone through most of these issues too. Here are my tips -Don't buy clothes that look too old (if thats what ur going for, then fine). But I realised that buying clothes that look faded, stretched and loosing its shape don't make you wan't to wear them more often -Find your seasonal colour palette. This has been a game changer for me tbh. Knowing what colours bring out my natural characteristics and the best parts of myself, instead of making me look ill. -Finding what shapes look best on your body. This is a huge game changer and made me feel confident in the clothes I wear -Fall in love with the item. The item is supposed to cater to you, not the other way round
