The problem with most manufacturers today is they focus more on selling shares of stock than quality.
At age 77, I remember when a new car required oil changes and chassis lubrication every 3000 miles and needed tires and brakes every 20,000. So they all seem pretty good to me now. When the narrator says that needing substantial service before 100,000 is unsatisfactory, I remember that back then, they didn't last 100,000 at all. Our new (2019 & 2024) VWs have too many electronic options for me to keep track of. If I accidentally bump something and change a display, I have to park and try to figure out how to restore what I had.
All cars today are over complicated. Cars need to go back to the 1960s and the simplicity, without all the computer chips. I miss being able to work on my own car.
Driving a 2003 Chevrolet suburban, 348,000 miles. Original motor and transmission never opened up. Solid.
The Land Rover situation is an outrage!
Chrysler got worse after merging with Fiat. I think Chrysler is the worst for the Big 3. Like GM, they used cheap quality materials/parts to lower production costs
Nissan has been using horrible CVTs
I'm Suprised at Volvo . They used to becamong the BEST....I miss seeing SAABs.
The sheer amount of needless equipment that festoons so many modern cars is a recipe for disaster.
Thank you, for the education and warnings👍❤️
I love my 2005 Accord, some say they were bad, but mine has 240k miles and it keeps going . I use it for everything, I just love it. It has never failed me. It’s what I called a reliable car
I drive a Nissan Qashqai , MT for almost 9 years and it's been extremely reliable. Almost 100.000 km and extreme weather conditions in Finland. Never had a problem so far. Only minor issues like stone hit windshield that was replaced and covered by my insurance... It averages 6 l /100 km. We faithfully replace oil and filter every 10000 km. The service at the Nissan Dealer has been excellent and I got a free rental car while in for inspections
Worst cars 2025 11. Nissan: poor mileage transmission, burn oil 10. Land Rover: air suspension, electronics, brakes issues.. 9. Jeep: not safe. Unreliable.. 8. GM: cheap Quality .. ignition transmission issues . 7. Chrysler: bad assembly, poor fit. Engine stalling ..software failure 6. BMW: frequent parts replacement..engine cooling system... refuse to fix exploits warranty.. 5. Mercedes Benz: complex technologies to repair...air suspensions, turbo charged fixtures expensive..poor mileage.. 4. Jaguar: poor sales services..unreliable - diesel engines, electronic issues.. 3. VW: expensive repairs.. imported parts and difficult to find mechanics.. 2. Audi: expensive repairs... electronic failures ..complex technologies...all alarms go off at the same time.. 1. Volvo: climate control failures ... Brakes dt software failures.. Interesting, most are supposedly " Elite " cars...‼⁉️
BMW has a real problem with them constantly running out of blinker fluid making the cars have no turn signals.
Save your money. Don’t. Buy anything.
I’m 77 years old and I can tell you that this info is right on.
Jeep quality got worse after its owner Chrsyler merged with Fiat and now owned by Stellantis. It's not the same Jeep from 25 years ago
The problem is the GM, Ford & Chrysler don't follow the quality philosophy that the Japanese do. All they care about is making higher profits and reducing production costs
I have a 2011 Nissan Rogue with 150,000 miles on it and never had one problem, have only changed the oil every 5,000 miles, Not a bit of rust and 23 miles per gallon. runs perfect
