My destiny has rearranged is a reference to King Sombra's destiny of him of becoming the king that he is in the FIENDSHIP comics and him being lonely is referring bring with no friends with his only true friend being Radiant Hope and his nightmares becoming the evil king and his thoughts are his fears This is a song that tells King Sombra's point of view in between the show and comics This song if it was in the show, this song would have been a contrast towards to the other mlp songs where this one has a more serious and dark tone and explains a fallen shadow becoming a tyranical king
