Gus: đ Walt: I believe we are alike. Gus: đ
Gustavo was right.
The beginning of Gus's downfall. The lesson here is always trust your initial instincts. He was 100% correct to decline business with Walter.
I love how quickly Gus drops his "upstanding citizen" charade as soon as Walt claims that they're alike. Lalo is gone, Hector is helpless, and just when Gus thinks that he owns the Albuquerque drug trade, some high school teacher and his junkie student show up at his restaurant and act like Gus needs them more than they need him. Walt tried to present himself has someone important with an offer that Gus shouldn't refuse, but Gus has been in this business for years and he saw right through Walt's confidence and made that perfectly clear to Walt. The only reason that Walt made it so far was because Gus basically took a chance on him at Gale's insistence.
Giancarlo Esposito can change Gus' persona with a absolutely minute change of facial expression. An unbelievable actor.
"You can never trust a drug addict"
Itâs kind of interesting how this ultimately led to Gusâ downfall. He made one lapse in judgement and it cost him everything. Walt was basically cancer to anyone he came in contact with.
All walt had to do was stfu and cook.
This guy looks like the type of guy, to be able to shut up, cook, make all the money in the world, but throw it all away.
Yeah⌠Gus probably should have trusted his gutâŚ
2:45 The most legendary change in facial expression in tv history
âBecause he does what I sayâ, no truer words were said. RIP Gale
"I can't work with someone with poor judgement" * proceeds to work with someone with poor judgement *
"You won't see him. You won't interact with him. Forget he exists." Lol
2:45 the most subtle facial expression change when Walter insults Gus by telling him they are alike. Watch his forehead wrinkles disappear. The change is so minimal, but it shows gus letting down his guard
I love how Gus looks behind him at 2:24. Like for a moment he's about to drop the facade but wants to make sure it's safe, then when he sees that other staff are still within earshot he goes straight back into friendly manager mode
0:50 To think if Gus hadnât turned his head to look at Walt, so many problems couldâve been avoided.
4:41 after the first date.
I love Gus, he's awesome lol. He can turn from professionally smiley to professionally serious. His tone of voice, facials expressions and body language is out of this world lol. It's everything lol. The guy playing as Gus is phenomenal with his performances as Gus lol.
