Kurzweil Predicts Human Immortality by 2030
Ray Kurzweil, the renowned futurist and former Google engineer, predicts that humans could achieve immortality as soon as 2030. He boasts an impressive record, claiming that 86% of his 147 predictions have already come true—like Deep Blue defeating the world chess champion in 1997.
In his book The Singularity Is Near (2005), Kurzweil said that nanobots will eventually be able to repair cells and halt aging altogether. He also predicts that by 2029, AI will match human intelligence, and by 2045, we’ll see full human-AI integration, drastically boosting our cognitive abilities.
While some leaders, like SoftBank’s CEO, agree with this vision, others, like Elon Musk, have warned that the technology is advancing too quickly and could bring unintended risks. Kurzweil’s predictions are fueling heated debate on the future of life and the quest to conquer death itself.
