Introducing my latest oil painting, "Arrival of Heaven."

Initially, I needed a fresh start and felt stagnant in my art and life so I set out to make a piece that exemplified that struggle. I wanted to make a "new beginning" of sorts.

Quickly finishing the background of a heavenly parting of clouds over dark waters, I was stumped with what I should do next. So I put together 3 mockups and left it to you all.

Overwhelmingly this option was chosen and I understand why. It felt the most true to the original desire I had for the piece, and I jumped to work on the angel, then the man in the waters.

Overall, I find many things that I'm still working through and wrestling with ideas I want to understand about this piece, even though I created it. But then again, that's half the fun of painting.
